A virtual folk band: playing traditional tunes with novel interfaces

In this paper, we present a complete band made of custom built MIDI interfaces and sound synthesis algorithms based on some traditional folk instruments. The band itself consists of a woodwind controller called Grallot, a Hurdy-Gurdy inspired interface and laser triggered drumpads. Except for the drums, all the instruments play custom physical models.
